翡翠有「人養玉，玉養人」嘅說法。正確保養翡翠，不但可以保持佢嘅光澤，更可以令翡翠越戴越靚。呢篇文教你如何正確保養你嘅翡翠珠寶。
翡翠最怕咩？
- 化學品：香水、護膚品、洗潔精等化學物質會損害翡翠表面，戴翡翠前應先噴香水，護膚後待吸收先戴
- 碰撞：翡翠雖然硬度高，但韌性較低，碰撞容易裂開，運動、做家務時建議取下
- 極端溫度：避免翡翠接觸極熱或極冷嘅環境，溫度急劇變化可能導致裂縫
- 長期乾燥環境：翡翠喜歡濕潤，長期存放於乾燥環境會令翡翠失去光澤
日常清潔方法
- 用溫水加少量中性洗潔精，用軟毛刷輕輕刷洗
- 用清水沖淨，確保無洗潔精殘留
- 用柔軟乾淨嘅布抹乾，唔好用紙巾（容易有纖維殘留）
- 完全乾透後先存放
存放方法
- 獨立存放：翡翠硬度高，可能刮花其他珠寶，應獨立存放於珠寶盒或布袋
- 保持濕潤：長期存放時可放一杯水在旁邊，或用濕布包裹
- 避免陽光直射：長期陽光直射會令翡翠褪色
- 定期佩戴：人體油脂可以滋潤翡翠，令其越戴越靚

There is a saying: 'People nurture jade, and jade nurtures people.' Caring for your jadeite properly not only preserves its lustre, but can actually make it more beautiful over time. This guide explains how to care for your jadeite jewellery correctly.
What Does Jadeite Fear Most?
- Chemicals: Perfume, skincare products, and detergents can damage the jadeite surface. Apply perfume and allow skincare to absorb fully before putting on your jade
- Impact: Although jadeite is hard, it has relatively low toughness and can crack from impact. Remove your jade during exercise or housework
- Extreme temperatures: Avoid exposing jadeite to very hot or very cold environments — sudden temperature changes can cause cracking
- Prolonged dry environments: Jadeite prefers moisture; storing it in a dry environment for extended periods can cause it to lose its lustre
Daily Cleaning Method
- Use warm water with a small amount of mild, pH-neutral soap, and gently scrub with a soft brush
- Rinse thoroughly with clean water, ensuring no soap residue remains
- Pat dry with a soft, clean cloth — avoid paper towels as fibres may be left behind
- Allow to dry completely before storing
Storage
- Store separately: Jadeite is hard and can scratch other jewellery — store it individually in a jewellery box or soft pouch
- Maintain moisture: For long-term storage, place a small cup of water nearby, or wrap in a slightly damp cloth
- Avoid direct sunlight: Prolonged sun exposure can cause jadeite to fade
- Wear it regularly: Natural body oils moisturise jadeite, making it more beautiful over time
Does Jadeite Really Get More Beautiful with Wear?
Yes — this is true. Over time, the natural oils from your skin penetrate the microscopic spaces between jadeite crystals, making the stone more translucent and its colour more vibrant. This process is called 'panning jade' (盤玉). So don't leave your jadeite in a drawer — wear it, and it will reward you by becoming more beautiful.
