Many people assume jadeite only comes in green. In fact, jadeite exists in a remarkably rich spectrum of colours — green, lavender, yellow, white, black, and more. Different colours have different origins, rarity levels, and values.

Green Jadeite (Imperial Green)

Green is the most classic and sought-after colour in jadeite. The green colour comes from chromium (Cr) within the stone. The finest green jadeite is known as 'Imperial Green' (帝王綠) — rich, vivid, and evenly distributed. It is the most valuable colour in jadeite.

Lavender Jadeite (Spring Colour / 春色)

Lavender jadeite is colloquially known as 'Spring Colour' (春色) or 'Violet Jade' (紫羅蘭). The colour comes from iron and manganese elements within the jadeite crystal structure. Lavender jadeite has become very popular in recent years — particularly the pale lavender with a grey undertone, which is elegant and understated, and deeply favoured by younger women.

Yellow Jadeite (Yellow Fei / 黃翡)

Yellow jadeite (黃翡) gets its colour from iron oxide on the outer skin of the jadeite. Colours range from pale yellow to deep orange-yellow, with honey yellow being the most popular. Yellow jadeite typically comes from the outer skin of the raw stone — the result of natural oxidation over time.

White Jadeite

White jadeite is the purest colour in jadeite — containing no colouring elements. Its value depends primarily on texture grade: the higher the texture (the more translucent), the higher the value. Ice-type white jadeite has a clean, luminous beauty and is an increasingly popular choice.
