紫色翡翠（俗稱「春色」或「紫羅蘭翡翠」）係近年翡翠市場中升值最快嘅品種之一。佢嘅顏色優雅低調，唔似綠色翡翠咁搶眼，但有一種獨特嘅柔和美感，深受年輕女性喜愛。
紫色翡翠嘅顏色成因
紫色翡翠嘅顏色來自翡翠晶體結構中嘅鐵（Fe²⁺/Fe³⁺）同錳（Mn²⁺）元素。呢兩種元素嘅比例同含量，決定咗紫色嘅深淺同色調。紫色翡翠嘅顏色範圍非常廣，由極淡嘅粉紫色到深紫色都有。

Lavender jadeite (colloquially known as 'Spring Colour' / 春色 or 'Violet Jade' / 紫羅蘭翡翠) is one of the fastest-appreciating varieties in the jadeite market in recent years. Its colour is elegant and understated — less striking than green jadeite, but with a unique, soft beauty that has won the hearts of younger women.
The Origin of Lavender Jadeite's Colour
The colour of lavender jadeite comes from iron (Fe²⁺/Fe³⁺) and manganese (Mn²⁺) elements within the jadeite crystal structure. The ratio and concentration of these two elements determines the depth and tone of the purple. The colour range of lavender jadeite is extremely wide — from the palest pink-purple to deep violet.
Texture Grade in Lavender Jadeite
Lavender jadeite typically has a Glutinous-type or Glutinous-Icy texture — meaning it carries a certain degree of haziness and is not as translucent as green jadeite. This is because the crystal structure of lavender jadeite is generally slightly coarser than that of green jadeite. However, high-texture lavender jadeite (Icy-Glutinous or Ice-type) does exist and commands very high prices.
How to Evaluate the Quality of Lavender Jadeite
- Colour: Even distribution with moderate saturation is ideal; too pale or too deep both affect aesthetics
- Texture: Higher texture is better — Icy-Glutinous grade and above significantly increases value
- Translucency: Hold up to a light source and observe — the more light passes through, the better
- Flaws: Check for cotton inclusions, cracks, and black spots — fewer flaws is better
- Colour distribution: Even distribution is preferable, though uneven colour distribution is normal in natural jadeite
Common Colour Tones in Lavender Jadeite
- Pink-purple: The palest tone — fresh and delicate, suited to younger women
- Pure purple: Vivid colour — the most sought-after tone in lavender jadeite
- Grey-purple: With a grey undertone — elegant and understated; very fashionable in recent years
- Deep purple: Rich colour — relatively rare; suited to mature women
